We spent a great deal of July and August with family visits. First, Karl's sister Emily came to visit with her family. Inge loved spending time with her cousins at the Looff Carousel, Manito Park, and Grandma and Grandpa's house. Emily's family has a big suburban that Inge loved to ride with her cousins in it.

After Emily visited, Karl's sister Rebecca and his brother Sam came to visit with their families. Rebecca's family stayed at our house and Inge LOVED playing with her cousins, especially "'Liza," who is just about six months older than Inge. They loved playing with their little doggies (Bustum and Clifford, Eliza's friend, pictured here with them).
We visited Priest Lake with Grandma and Grandpa. This was a great time with family. I made a bunch of cookies for the trip, which was a lot of fun even though it was a really hot day, because I love making cookies! I'll include the recipes soon along with the graham cracker recipe, which was quite popular. Karl really relaxed on this trip, which was great because he is typically under a great deal of stress.
Here is Karl relaxing with Bjorn one morning. Bjorn is such a snuggler, as you can see in this picture. Sometimes, when I get too tired to put him back to bed after feeding him at night, usually when he has gotten up more than once during the night, I just keep him in bed with me after feeding him and he sometimes nearly pushes me off the bed with his snuggling! Cute little boy.
Inge, Bjorn, Karl and I went on a "hike" with Sam's son Nils who is now a freshman at BYU. Nils wanted to have a real hike, I think, but, he also has seven siblings and recognizes that things do not always turn out as planned when little children are involved. We drove up toward a small lake high above Priest Lake and parked our car when the road got too rough for it. We ran into a family in a truck who picked us up on the road. This ride only lasted a few miles because Inge, who was riding in the back with her daddy, screamed like she was being tortured the whole time, so we finally decided to get out and walk. It was a long enough ride to learn that these people were related to the person who named the lake we were trying to hike to.
The road was really rough and so we decided to take Bjorn's carseat, which was a really good decision. Nils was REALLY gracious to carry it all the way back down to our car. It was a fun little hike, although it was not what we planned, and we even found some huckleberries, which Inge loved. Little Inge who does not love fruit would, of course, take a fancy for the fruit that is most difficult to obtain! Inge loved this time with her cousins and I think that they enjoyed this time with her. Larissa was darling with Bjorn, too.
After Sam and Rebecca's visits, Karl's sister Sarah came to visit with her family. We enjoyed spending time at Spokane River and Grandma and Grandpa's house with them. It was all a lot of fun. Inge had such a good time with her cousins and she got so worn out that one day after church she just came home and fell asleep on the floor. For any of you who know Inge, you know that this is highly unusual behavior. It goes to show what a good time she had!
